Minutes

Two members from Covenham Village Volunteers attended the meeting to explain the urgency of finalising the lease agreement as imposed by the funding agency.  The works to refurbish the Parish Rooms cannot be started until a signed agreement is in place. They stayed until the end of the meeting.

02/24-2 To receive any Declarations of Interest on any item on the agenda. Cllrs IA, AQ and LJ declared their interest in all matters relating to CVV prior to the meeting and had been given dispensation by the Proper Officer.

 

02/24-3 Minutes from 25 January 2024. It was resolved that the draft minutes from the meeting were accurate and was duly signed by the Chair.

02/24-4 Contract Lease Agreement of Parish Rooms to Covenham Village Volunteers.  The Councillors considered the three quotes from solicitors’ firms to provide legal advice and amendments on the draft lease agreement.  The Council resolved to accept the amended quote from Bridge McFarland.  The Parish Clerk will confirm and request urgent attention.

02/24-5 Parish Rooms Guttering works.  The Councillors considered the three quotes received and resolved to accept the quotation from T R Gutter Services. Cllr LJ will action.

02/24-6 Funding Request.   The Council received a request to help cover the cost of printing leaflets to be distributed to all households regarding the proposed pylons in the parish.  A £25 donation was agreed and the Council was willing to pay for the cost of ink cartridges on subsequent leaflets for printing.  It was also agreed to pay for a banner which will be put up outside the Parish Rooms. The Chair will get this actioned.  It was further agreed that the Parish Council will provide the use of the Parish Rooms for free for village meetings relating to this issue.  The first such meeting is on Thursday, 29 February 2024 at 3pm and 7pm.

(i) TPO works on Annex at Bluebell Grange, Covenham St. Mary.  The Council has no objections to the tree works as stated in the application.
